You will find many flavors of gelato here. However, we recommend ordering the “Yui” gelato made from white chocolate and sake lees from Yuki Sake Brewery.

Izumiya Udon

This noodle shop serves up its famous "Nishiyama udon."
A look into the history of the dish reveals that it originated from a miso udon dish popular in Owari Province (modern-day Aichi Prefecture). When Izumiya first opened, the noodle dish was advertised as a "meat udon." Currently, the popular restaurant is operated by a third-generation owner.
One of the restaurant's most popular dishes is the "Chilled Tanuki" featuring extra-thick udon noodles served cold. But if you're feeling extra hungry, try super-sizing your noodles to "Ultra" or "Supersize."

Vegan Cafe Terra

Located in the heart of Mito City, Vegan Cafe Terra is a short walk from Mito Station's North Exit and close to tourist destinations, including Kairakuen and Kodokan. As Mito City's first vegan restaurant, you can try vegan versions of classic Japanese favorites like ramen and curry rice. There are also delicious salads and a range of vegan cakes.
The chef and owner Mitsuyo spent a year learning vegan cuisine in Kyoto, a city with a long history of vegetarian cuisine. He also has a qualification in plant-based and whole food cooking.
The restaurant has an English menu and is happy to welcome non-Japanese speakers.

Osakana Tengoku Conveyor Belt Sushi & Seafood

"Osakana Tengoku" translates to "fish paradise." The restaurant is located next to Oarai Seafood Market, guaranteeing the day's freshest catch.
Recommendations include the seafood rice bowl available year-round or anglerfish hotpot during winter.

Kanasaan Soba Noodles

Located inside Kanasa no Yu bathing facility, Kanasaan restaurant offers a variety of dishes using locally produced buckwheat flour. Soba noodles are served freshly ground, hand-kneaded, and boiled. The soba noodles are made from buckwheat grains that are ground daily using a stone mill. The water used is natural spring water from the Nishikanasa region, which is said to be good for the skin. Locally sourced vegetables are also abundantly used. In addition to soba menu, a variety of rice dishes are also available.

Tonkatsu Ton

Tonkatsu Ton specializes in deep-fried pork cutlets. Most ingredients are locally sourced, including rice and vegetables grown in Ibaraki.
In addition to pork cutlets, the restaurant offers a range of sake and wine. Food is served on Kasamaware, traditional pottery produced in Ibaraki's Kasama City.
Tonkatsu Ton is wheelchair accessible and provides menus in Braille and sign language.

Restaurant Iijima

This restaurant is run directly by Iijima Butchers and specialises in premium beef including Hitachi Wagyu Beef. Iijima was first opened in 1979 and the quality of both food and service has kept cemented the restaurant’s popularity both locally and with visitors from further afield.
Dishes include Hitachi Beef steaks, shabushabu hot pot, sukiyaki and hamburger steaks as well as set menu and full course options.
There are also a variety of dining settings to choose from including the relaxed main restaurant, counter seating, an outdoor terrace and Japanese-style private rooms for events.

Restaurant Mon Lapin

This French restaurant is located in central Kasama. It is the perfect spot for lunch or dinner after visiting Kasama Inari Shrine or Crafthills Kasama. Mon Lapin offers classic French dishes with locally-grown ingredients and meat and seafood produced in Ibaraki.
Mr. Sayama, the owner and chef, prides himself on making Mon Lapin a welcoming place for everyone. He works alongside nutritionists, doctors, and caretakers to develop dishes catered to various dietary needs. Whether you have diabetes, dysphagia, or are simply watching your calories, there's a menu option for you! Please note that meals for special dietary requirements require advanced booking.

This seafood restaurant serves freshly caught seafood, including a local specialty of anglerfish.
English-speaking staff is available to help non-Japanese speakers.

Restaurant Eifuku

The restaurant specializes in dishes using Okukuji shamo, a wildfowl unique to the Daigo area of northern Ibaraki.

Hamazen Seafood Restaurant

Hamazen uses freshly caught seafood from the nearby fishing port. Visit during the winter months to taste the area's most famous dish: anglerfish hotpot.
Hamazen uses locally produced agricultural and seafood products from Ibaraki Prefecture.
