Shirakawa uses locally produced buckwheat flour 'Hitachi Aki Soba' as well as fresh local vegetables in all their dishes.
If you're not sure what to try, go for the 'nabe-yaki udon' (udon noodles fried in an iron pot, available from Autumn to Spring), the Okukuji-shamo chicken and egg bowl or the Okukuji-shamo chicken soba noodles.
