Hananuki Gorge

This scenic gorge area stretches from the Hananuki Dam to the Kotakizawa Camp Site. The gorge's most famous attraction is the stunning Shiomi Falls Suspension Bridge. There are also plenty of hiking trails for exploring the area.
The best time to visit is autumn when foliage covers the area in a blanket of fiery reds and yellows. Summer is another excellent time to bask in the natural surroundings. Bring your swimwear and plunge into natural pools and streams, then relax with a barbecue or picnic at the camp area.

Yuba no Sato Tofu Restaurant

Yuba is referred to as "tofu skin" that forms on top of boiled soy milk. While it may not sound appealing, yuba is silky and slightly sweet. Plus, it is high in protein and iron! Yuba cuisine is an excellent choice for vegetarians who'd like to experience traditional Japanese cuisine.
This yuba specialty restaurant is a great place to try this unique health food. We recommend trying the yuba dipped in hot pot or yuba sashimi.

Tenshin Memorial Museum of Art

The Tenshin Memorial Museum of Art is located in picturesque Izura. The area is renowned for its beautiful winding coastline, cliffs, and pine forests. It has been recognized as one of the top 100 beaches in Japan. Moreover, the sound of the waves at Izura was selected for a project recording Japan's 100 most captivating soundscapes.
The artist Tenshin Okakura was one of the pioneers of modern art in Japan during the Meiji Period (1868–1912). He later founded The Japan Art Institute (Nihon Bijutsuin). In 1906, the institute moved from Izura to Tokyo's Ueno district, where Tenshin Okakura worked alongside other artists, including Taikan Yokoyama.
The Tenshin Memorial Museum of Art was established on November 8, 1997. The facility commemorates his achievements and displays works by him and his contemporaries.
