Modern Kaiseki & Wine Tousuian offers modern kaiseki cuisine made with ingredients produced in Ibaraki Prefecture.
Modern kaiseki cuisine is a full-course Japanese meal that adopts Western cooking methods. It can be enjoyed together with wine selected by the owner-cum-sommelier.

The restaurant is a three-storied building with an expansive space on the first floor where you can feel nature's beauty. There are table and counter seats as well as semi-private rooms.
The second floor houses a reception hall for parties with a capacity of 60 people while the third floor has private rooms ideal for small gatherings.

The restaurant offers menus for celebrations, casual set menus, and bento-style dishes.
Besides alcoholic beverages, we recommend the Tokugawa Shogun Coffee by SAZA COFFEE. The local coffeemaker made this coffee brew inspired by Yoshinobu Tokugawa of the Mito Domain, the Edo shogunate's last feudal lord.

Ume Cafe WAON

Ume Cafe WAON is managed by Yoshidaya, a well-established Japanese pickle shop founded in 1830. It is the first plum (ume) specialty cafe in Japan and is a popular spot to enjoy food, sweets, and drinks made with plums and other ingredients from Ibaraki Prefecture. The cafe's menu highlights the refreshing flavor of plums, with all items prepared with care and attention. The different seasonal variations are particularly appealing.

The shop has a calm, laid-back atmosphere where visitors can spend some relaxing time. There is also terrace seating, so on nice days visitors can enjoy their meal outside in the fresh air. The adjoining retail shop proudly offers Yoshidaya's famous pickled plums (umeboshi) and other pickled products (tsukemono). It’s the perfect spot to refresh yourself during a sightseeing break.

Restaurant Iijima

This restaurant is run directly by Iijima Butchers and specialises in premium beef including Hitachi Wagyu Beef. Iijima was first opened in 1979 and the quality of both food and service has kept cemented the restaurant’s popularity both locally and with visitors from further afield.
Dishes include Hitachi Beef steaks, shabushabu hot pot, sukiyaki and hamburger steaks as well as set menu and full course options.
There are also a variety of dining settings to choose from including the relaxed main restaurant, counter seating, an outdoor terrace and Japanese-style private rooms for events.
