Modern Kaiseki & Wine Tousuian offers modern kaiseki cuisine made with ingredients produced in Ibaraki Prefecture.
Modern kaiseki cuisine is a full-course Japanese meal that adopts Western cooking methods. It can be enjoyed together with wine selected by the owner-cum-sommelier.

The restaurant is a three-storied building with an expansive space on the first floor where you can feel nature's beauty. There are table and counter seats as well as semi-private rooms.
The second floor houses a reception hall for parties with a capacity of 60 people while the third floor has private rooms ideal for small gatherings.

The restaurant offers menus for celebrations, casual set menus, and bento-style dishes.
Besides alcoholic beverages, we recommend the Tokugawa Shogun Coffee by SAZA COFFEE. The local coffeemaker made this coffee brew inspired by Yoshinobu Tokugawa of the Mito Domain, the Edo shogunate's last feudal lord.

Oarai Yamaguchi-ro

Oarai, located about a 30-minute drive from Mito City, is known for its beautiful coastline. In summer, when the beach is open, it attracts many tourists and transforms into a lively hub of activity.
Each room at the Oarai Yamaguchi-ro Hotel is furnished with high-quality amenities. From the windows, guests can enjoy views of the sea framed by pine forests along the Oarai coastline and experience the refreshing scent of ocean waves and pine trees.

The hotel’s restaurant specializes in Shio-yaki, a meal course featuring fresh fish and shellfish caught offshore, as well as premium-grade local beef, all grilled in front of guests to their delight. Kaiseki meals with abundant seafood ingredients and seasonal monkfish dishes (available only from mid-November to March) are also popular.

Kakigoya

Kakigoya, managed by Iiokaya Suisan, is the ideal spot to savor the area's fresh seafood bounty. Visitors first select their preferred seafood and then grill it on-site to savor the delicious flavor. In addition, the shop offers a diverse menu, including kaisendon (a bowl of rice topped with sashimi) and teishoku (set meals).

In particular, the oysters, a specialty of Oarai, are characterized by their plump texture and rich flavor. An especially popular item is the oysters steamed in a tin container. There is also an all-you-can-eat option for steamed oysters.

The shop boasts a spacious eating area, so families and groups of friends can spend some enjoyable time together here.
