Located next to Kairakuen Garden, Tokiwa Shrine is the largest shrine in Mito City. It is dedicated to Tokugawa Mitsukuni and Tokugawa Nariaki, the second and ninth feudal lords of the Mito Domain during the Edo Period (1603–1868).
Additionally, the Giretsukan building contains paintings, calligraphy, and artworks left by the two lords.

Kasama Inari Art Museum

This museum is the place to learn about the rich history of Japanese pottery.

Located on the grounds of Kasama Inari Shrine, the museum displays six styles of ancient pottery in the permanent exhibition.

Their collection consists of works from the Heian, Kamakura, and Muromachi periods, spanning over 1,000 years old. Elaborate hanging scrolls and folding screens with drawings depicting scenes of Japanese landscapes and seasonal motifs are also displayed in special exhibitions.

Visitors can gain valuable knowledge about the history and development of Japanese ceramics at this museum.

Yoshikubo Brewery

Yoshikubo Brewery has been making sake at their Mito Honcho location since 1790. The tasty beverage uses Mito City's soft water and top-quality rice produced locally in Ibaraki. Yoshikubo Brewery achieves its distinct acidity and savory flavor of their sake by allowing the koji (mold) to develop slowly during the brewing process.
The brewery is famous for its junmai daiginjo sake (top-grade sake), "Ippin." This beverage has received numerous awards, including the Gold Award for Sake.

Shizumine Furusato Park

This spacious park is famous for its cherry blossoms. There are nearly 2,000 Yaezakura (double-flowered cherry) and Someiyoshino cherry trees. During the cherry blossom season in April, various events are held in the park to make the cherry blossom viewing experience extra special.
