Nakago Onsen

This onsen (hot spring facility) features a sauna, cold-water plunge pool, and large warm-water baths separated into male and female bathing areas. There are also two open-air baths constructed from natural stone and are covered with wooden canopies. Illuminated at night, these outdoor baths are perfect for relaxing after a long day of sightseeing.
With a pH of 8.5, the hot spring water naturally contains sodium calcium sulfate, which is said to make the skin look healthy and supple.

Hananuki Gorge

This scenic gorge area stretches from the Hananuki Dam to the Kotakizawa Camp Site. The gorge's most famous attraction is the stunning Shiomi Falls Suspension Bridge. There are also plenty of hiking trails for exploring the area.
The best time to visit is autumn when foliage covers the area in a blanket of fiery reds and yellows. Summer is another excellent time to bask in the natural surroundings. Bring your swimwear and plunge into natural pools and streams, then relax with a barbecue or picnic at the camp area.

Oiwa Shrine

While the exact age of Oiwa Shrine is unknown, the presence of religious remains from the Jomon Era (around 3500-4500 years ago) appears to have occurred here from ancient times. The shrine is also mentioned in "Hitachi no Fudoki," one of Japan's oldest literary texts. It refers to the shrine by its former name of "Yamakabire no Takamine" and describes it as a sacred site built to honor the deities in the mountainous area.
