In early spring, over 1000 plum trees blossom on the slopes of Mount Tsukuba. The plum groves are located at an altitude of around 250 meters, offering panoramic views over the Ibaraki countryside. Visitors can even see as far as Tokyo on clear days.

Access
By train/bus: From Tsukuba Station on the Tsukuba Express Line, take the Mount Tsukuba Shuttle Bus and get off at Mount Tsukuba Shrine.

By highway bus: From Tokyo Station, take a highway bus bound for Tsukuba Center. Get off at Tsukuba Center and take the Mount Tsukuba Shuttle Bus. Off board at Mount Tsukuba Shrine.

By car: From Tsuchiura-Kita IC on the Joban Expressway, 20km following signs for Shimotsuma/Mount Tsukuba or 24km via the Purple Line/Route 125.
