2024.06.10Enjoy the charms of Bonsai at Tree House Bonsai, Ami Town

Tree House Bonsai, owned by Adam Jones (USA), one of the only western bonsai masters in Japan, is a combination of a bonsai nursery and a Japanese garden.

After completing his Fine Arts and Education studies, Adam Jones studied the art of bonsai at Mansei-en, located in the Omiya Bonsai village, one of the main bonsai sites in Japan, before opening his own garden in Ami Town, Ibaraki, in 2018. Currently, he owns and takes care of more than 1600 bonsai trees which are on display in his spacious garden.

Tree House Bonsai offers different workshops in English and Japanese to those interested in learning more about bonsai techniques. These workshops are suitable both for beginners and emerging enthusiasts, with sessions ranging from two hours to two days. For total immersion in the world of bonsai, seasonal intensive courses are also available, lasting from one week to up to three months, with the accommodation included.

Free non-guided visits of the garden are also welcome upon reservation from the website. A guided visit with a detailed explanation from Adam himself can also be organized upon request or through a travel agency.

During your visit, do not miss the neighboring Zensho-ji Temple to delve even more deeply into Japanese traditions and religion.
