2022.05.02Azalea Festival (Tsutsuji Matsuri) and Himatsuri Pottery Festival in Kasama city

Festival of blooming azaleas in Kasama Azalea Park (Kasama Tsustuji Koen) is held until May, 8. Right now, 8500 azaleas are in the blooming peak, painting the park hills, which provide a birdfly view of Kasama city from 143 meters height, in coral, pink, crimson, and purple colors.

 

Along with Kasama Tsutsuji Matsuri, there is another event in the city ー Kasama Himatsuri Pottery Festival. Kasama city is designated as Japan Heritage by being the city of pottery art. Each year the Himatsuri Pottery Festival attracts more than 550 000 visitors who gain inspiration from the artworks of more than 200 participating artisans.
