Tsukimachi Falls

Tsukimachi Falls is one of the hidden gems of the northern Ibaraki area. While the falls themselves aren't as dramatic as the famed Fukuroda Falls, its unique geology allows visitors to walk behind a curtain of water to observe the rushing water from behind.
The fast-flowing water makes it a great place to cool off during the Japanese summer. The area is also known for its flaming red maple foliage in autumn.
Momijien Soba Restaurant is located to the falls if you'd like to enjoy a meal while gazing out at the scenery. This restaurant uses locally grown buckwheat flour to make its noodles. Freshly-made soba paired with the falls makes for a picturesque memory in Ibaraki.

Kirara no Sato Recreation Park

Okuhitachi Kirara no Sato is a recreation park home to the longest slide in Japan. Visitors will also find gardens, cabins, take-out food stands, and a soba noodle restaurant.
The park's famous slide measures 1188-meters long and can reach speeds of up to 40km per hour. In other words, this attraction is not for the faint-hearted!
On clear days, Mount Fuji and the Nikko mountains in Tochigi Prefecture are visible from the park.

Isohara Futatsushima Beach

Futatsushima translates to "two islands" in Japanese and is named after the two uninhabited islands that symbolize this beach. It is particularly popular with families due to its beautiful white sands, clear waters, and easy access by car or train.
